George Costanza
George Costanza is a selfish,
Petty, little man
Only a deeply insecure, flawed, man like that
Can see such fault in every little thing
And yet, when he sees the working man,
A security guard,
Standing all day at his post
George rallies the masses (or mostly himself)
Until that guard can sit comfortably!
How can such compassion,
Even born of self congratulatory intent,
Be condemned?
But you know how it goes,
He gets involved,
and causes more harm than good
Perhaps George can never be good
He must remain an archetype
Constrained by the slap and sting
Of the Seinfeld bass theme
George is a man trapped in an episode arc
punished for eternity
A modern day sisyphus
I think I may be asking too much
My folly, hoping that the inevitable turn of events
Will not turn this time
That George will truly help this time
That no laugh track will que
That this time
The guard doesn't fall asleep
While the robber gets away
